For the first time and what felt like months I headed out on a shopping trip to get inspired, look for a few things for a client and maybe a few items for myself.
I took some pictures along the way when I spotted some great finds so I figured I'd share the eye candy.
First stop the thrift store. Ahh I feel so at home riffling through what other people call "junk". I like hitting the thrift stores first before the "regular stores" because I usually find great items at a fraction of the cost so when I get to the regular shops I don't have to worry bout forking out the dough on an item.
I was rummaging through the baskets when I spotted this "gem". If you can get past the salmonish tone that looks like it is straight out of a Florida retirement community and look at it for it's size and shape then it as a good find at $2.99 and I have an easy DIY project I'll be sharing involving this guy.
On the back of the shelf this basket was hiding. Again $2.99, I thought it was a great low bowl type basket for a kitchen or coffee table.
This wooden thing also came home with me.
I have no clue what it is. A fancy rolling pin? A wooden ab roller? Who knows but it makes a great decorative accessory.
Next stop Homegoods. I really can't say how much I love that place. It's always changing and you can find some great stuff that no one else will have!
I spotted the chevron from across the store. These lounge chair and bean bag sets screamed hip kids play room. They were $129/set.
This library table caught my eye because it had burlap printed fabric on the draw fronts. I think I may have to try something like that down the line.
I love anything with weathered wood. This console caught my attention because it was unique. I thought it would make a great piece in a kids room to store all those toys out of sight behind those bright flag drawers.
I rarely see dining tables in Homegoods, I wish they had them more often. This one had me running to it. I think it was some sort of steel with a patina finish to it. It would be a great conversation piece in a dining room...definitely not your average wood table and it would also look amazing outside and you wouldn't have to worry about it being exposed to the weather.
It was only $699 which I thought seemed like a great deal for something of this style.
I love inspiration shopping, it's my retail therapy.
Be back soon with a new piece of furniture. I'm doing a little reworking with the hardware. I thought I was going to keep the originals until I saw it all together and it totally wasn't what my style is about so I am switching around a few things. Stay tuned for the reveal.
