design journal; chapter 1.

1. A jumping off point.

So I gave myself a week to find something for my master bedroom to use as a jumping off point and help set the tone for the rest of the space. I'm happy to report i did it!

I scored this really pretty duvet cover at Homegoods for only $40.

It is very, very similar to the one I already had however the color-ways in this one are right on. It has different shades of greys (love!) and blues that match the wall color and the white background keeps it bright and airy.

So now that I have my jumping off point it's time to move onto the focal point of the room. In this case since I'm working on my bedroom the focal point is the bed. So 10 points for me since I already have the bedding but there are still a lot more things I plan on doing for the bed to really make it stand out.

The next chapter begins and I'm giving myself 2 weeks to work on it! Here is my pretty sketch (i kid) of ideas for that whole side of the room...

Anyone else find any great things that gave you a starting point for a room makeover?!
